Found this photo in my collection of "stuff". Look at the hinge pin on the gun on the left. The Woody looks like a Plymouth..from the edge on the rear fender..

Look at the rolled edge on the back fender..very typical Plymouth of the late 30s. Notice the built-in dog boxes ?

Look closely at the left hand of the Parker man.

Yup, he's a prop. He has no clue where that forend should go. Plus he's got the finger of his right hand firmly on the trigger.

It is a nice addition Jerry. It is a picture of how things were back in the 40's - very nice indeed.

Notice also the LOM case laying on the tailgate behind the Parker barrels. Could that be a A&F case?

The Parker is disassembled. The hand holding the barrels does not seem to be part of the person holding the rest of the gun. The finger on the trigger of a completely harmless disassembled gun bothers me much less than the other fellow who has a closed gun for a photo shoot. The dogs are a hoot and the car is a mystery. I hunt out of a Country Squire, so I understand the mystique of the "woody".

I doubt the guy on the left would be stomping much cover in those tweed trousers and lace-ups! Contrived or not though, it's a cool picture.

He may be putting the Parker together before the hunt but the dogs seem to calm.

I think he is taking the gun down to put it in the LoM case. Those are Malone wool hunting trousers, very popular well into the 1960s. I shoot skeet with an older gent who wears them during the winter. They were a regular catalog item at either Eddie Bauer or Filson. Is the over/under the other guy has a Remington Model 32 or a Browning Superposed?

My Dad had a 1948 Mercury back in the 1950's .J.J

I don't like to take issue with Researcher on any matters, but all the Malone trousers I've seen are plain front, un-cuffed, have a slight taper toward the ankles and are cut a bit short to allow for boots/heavy shoes (see below); those in the photo look like pleated and cuffed dress tweeds to me, especially with that break over what appear to be cap-toed lace up oxfords.

Not to start a fashion discussion or anything :).
