We are able to hunt the Marsh now. The drought had us closed for the first time in memory for opening day/week. But once again we are back for decoying ducks in the Montezuma wetlands complex!

Attached a few pictures you may enjoy. The first and most prominent - VMC member Rick Simmonds shot his AAHE with success! The attached pictures do not due justice to the gun but you can see great photos of it in the "Feathered Lightning-Pink Dawn" DGJ article fall 2013 -by Craig Larter - Also more on this site by searching that same title in the general discusssions.

Many of you are aware we have some special Parkers (and other American doubles) throughout the VMC, but this is the first time a AAHE has been in the marsh! All of our guns will be hunted at one time or another - it one of the traditions that we work hard to keep alive - It's still more about "How" not so much about "How many"

More to come throughout the season..........

It's always nice to see these used the way they were built for. I like to shoot clays with my Parkers but it's much more fun to hunt with them.

I think it's great to see higher grades in the field. Thanks! Too many of our members talk of their beaters going to the field. And leaving the best in the safe. Ridiculous. If you want an investment, buy gold or perhaps a T bill. Not a Parker. Life is way too short.

What could be better?

I think your Parker can still be purchased as an "investment" that can be used. I hunt with a CHE 20 26 inch Damascus barrels that according to TPS there were only 8 produced in this configuration. Hunt with them but take care of them, don't abuse them, after all I don't know anyone who can kill a game bird with a T bill, mutual fund statement or a gold bar.

"Some" of us can't afford to have users and safe only . Any of them I have get used but lord knows I try and NOT abuse any of my guns be it a Parker or a recently built stainless synthetic rifle of whatever description .
