RST is making bismuth 16 gauge 2 1/2" loads. Just bought some. I would assume other gauges are available as well.

Good to know, thanks. I always keep some bismuth shell just in case in get to hunt where lead is not allowed.
When Bismuth first came on the market, they furnished all the ammo for a DWWC clay shoot outing and I saw that it shot just like lead in my guns.

I wish Morris had stuck with the 1 3/8 ounce 10 gauge loading in the non-toxic stuff. Shooting a hammer 10 gauge is fun, but the idea to me of shooting a 10 is having a little more punch and range. Still, I'm glad to see he's got a replacement for the now impossible to get Nice Shot. He's selling the only non-toxic short 10 gauge shell in the world I'm guessing, unless the Kent 2 7/8 loaded with TM is still available in the UK.

Did you buy them direct from RST? Did you call or use the web? I just checked their web site and it indicates all "Nice Shot" is out of stock. I was going to call, but they just closed.
Thanks, Patrick

I'll give them a call tomorrow-perhaps they are making more Nice Shot and have just not updated their home site. That would be great.
I did pick up about the last of thier Nice Shot stock (all they had was 7 1/2) last year by calling-the web site back then also said they were out of stock.

Patrick, perhaps there is a bit of confusion. Nice Shot and Bismuth are two different products. Nice Shot is a tungsten based pellet and Bismuth is just that, Bismuth pellets.
RST loaded Nice Shot as a non-tox loading until the supply pretty well petered out. Looking to retain a non-tox offering, it appears they have switched over to (back to) offering Bismuth.

yes - Bismuth is a completely different compound
the issue with nice shot is that it is not currently being made in the quantity required to load it commercially while bismuth is readily available once again
So - if you want to shoot Nice Shot- you must reload it AND you need to pay attention to the small quantities that show up for sale periodically
I tried to order 6 pounds of #4 today, had to settle for 5 pounds

First, thanks to gman, Marc and OH for the information re RST and non-toxic shot.
I just spoke to RST and yes, they are selling Bismuth short shells with light loads-which is great news for those of us who do not reload.
The gentleman I spoke to there said they had recently changed to Bismuth after some field testing and mentioned they had difficulty with the Nice Shot supply.
He did not know that their RST web site makes no mention of Bismuth and asked me to call Julie there to place an order and indicated he would make sure the site was updated.
It looks like my 10 Hammer gun with short chambers will see some action this season.
