As the years roll by I find it increasingly difficult to remove the snap forend on my Trojan. It's quite a tug right now. Does anyone has a tip or trick to make it a little easier?

Yes, I make a simple tool available for the removal of 'snap-on' forends. Shoot me a PM and I'll explain.
Other members have bought these from me and are very pleased with the result.

I'll second that.

Use a simple hairstyling comb with a broad spike end, a rigid plastic letter opener, or a bone folder (available at any leatherworking supply store). As long as the shaft is inflexible, you can pry up the forend tip without marring the bluing on the barrels using any of these.

Kevin, thanks but the tool I provide is not used to "pry" the forend off.

i'll speak up again so that Dean does need to sound like a salesman :biglaugh:
I use mine on a very tight Fox pin gun, and have used it on a friend's other gun where the wood to iron fit had to be repaired after years of pulling it off by hand`
you slide the piece under the tip of the forend along the under rib and as it reaches the iron the forend literately pops off - very slick and very little effort

While fiddling with my Trojan forend this morning I found that by sliding a plastic card under the forend and pushing it down to the forend loop it releases with only a gentle pull. I started by using the corner of the card then once started turned it sideways. I used an old hotel room card because it may deform the card a little. It will not damage either metal or wood. Super simple!

I guess 'pop' off is a better choice of word than "pry" off, same net effect notwithstanding.

Try using the tip of your middle finger under the tip of the forend; push and lift. If too tight, use a little KY on it.

Well, I'll be. That plastic card trick works like a charm.
I would have never thought of that.
Thanks!
