GHE12 engraved birds

How common is this? This gun seems to have ducks, pheasants and sharptails? engraved on it. This is a great gun. #1 frame. 6#10oz. 26".

Love the " looking back birds " on the older GH guns. The resend GH I purchased was made in 29 and fits me to a t. The engraving is nice, but was done by someone who did not do the " looking back birds".

Roger that Dean. It's a grouse/woodcock's worst nightmare of a gun. Little if any choke, cut bbls but letters with the 26". Light. Nice Wood. Made 1918. Dave Miles is likely still in tears from selling it to me. It's a real favorite of mine for sure. I sometimes shoot 24gram 4200psi PB loads in it that generate almost no recoil. I am really going to miss my PB when it runs out.

Richard, is that 79354? I have 79355, the twin to that one. I always wanted to get those two guns back together again.

Oops - it can't be 79354 with a mfg. date of 1918. Plus it is obviously a later gun as evidenced by the later frame filing.

This is 79355 in action. My first grouse with a Parker... a long time ago.

The way the early engravers stylized and 'cartooned' their birds, could as well be peacocks, 'flying turnips', and ptarmigan!

That is one nice G. The wood that adorns some G grades is often better, in my opinion, than that of D's. I have a 1903 P on a 1 frame with factory 26" barrels. At 6-10 it is a 12 that handles like a 20. I need another gun like a hole in the head but when the right G comes along I'm afraid my wallet will be lighter. Nice!

This is The Hollywood gun which came from Alex Kerrs. I have no idea who did the gold work.

The bird's profiles and postures all look like Robert Runge's work but did he ever work in gold that we know of? Typical G engraving but with a lot more filigris outside of the scrollwork than other G's.
