Anyone here pick up the 30" 20 gauge that was on Gunbroker?.....almost bid on it myself but I just bought a 20 gauge Fox and was feeling guilty about buying another so soon. Should have waited and got the Parker! Looks like it went for a very good price and congratulations if someone here got it.

I've always believed in long barrels on a fowling piece, it's just the way things should be done. I never had anybody complain about my barrel so I don't think I'm compensating for anything. *wink*

Speaking of long barrels ...Cabela's has a VHE-16, 0 frame two barrel set. I love the gun and the 28" barrels. Its at 6lb-2oz sweet The 2nd set is 32" and the gun is 7lb-1oz....heavy and long for my tast....the realy bad isue is thier price tag!!!!8400.00 but it is realy nice shape! The reason I like the 16ga guns is they hit like a 12 but carry like a 20. It defeats this reason after about 6lb-10oz.....might well carry a 12!, some are under 7lbs. If the price was about 5900.00 I would consider it. Would make a nice grouse/turky gun and waterfoul with proper ammo. thanks all SXS ohio....(-:

Kenny,
I've looked at the Cabela's gun and it's not in as nice of shape as you think. I took a trip to Sidney just to look at the gun. When I walked into the gun library and spotted the gun in the rack, I was immediately turned off by the barrel dents you could see standing ten feet away.
This is just another example of Cabela's missing the mark on price structure. If the gun was priced right it wouldn't have been sitting in the rack in Sidney for well over a year now.

I was in the Sydney NB Cabelas recently. They had few Parkers and the prices were laughable.

Cabelas misses the mark on both sides of the price point. Some are way to high and some way to low. I talked to a PGCA member who called on a DH 12 for $2200 as soon as it went on the web and it was gone...no kidding. The Cabelas Library mgr said he thought he might of undervalued the gun....you think.

I saw a half decent one at Cabela's in Monroe, MI the other evening. A 32 inch VH in shootable condition, well worn but a decent looking gun. I think they had $1500 on it which I didn't think was too bad considering how few 32 inch V grades you see.

Thanks Paul for the added info....If Cabela's drops its price on the Two barrel 16...? I will call and have them send pics of the dents in the barrels and make sure its returnable W/freight paid both ways. I like that gun. Few lightweight O frame 16-s around. I might be able to use them F/F heavy 32 inchers for something??? Might make good aircraft gun with oo buckshot...(-:
