Well this gun is certainly not a Parker, but in the day it was called the "old Reliable" especially after the Creedmoor matches, when the Brits were embarrassed by its accuracy, This is a Pedersoli replica, of the Sharps Creedmoor Rifle, weighs in at 13 lbs, and is the Deluxe version, gun packs a punch even with its weight. John, It is 32" barrels, and chambered for the 45-70, My buddies are shooting 45-90 not much difference, but a hoot to shoot, especially at 200 yds are more, You hear the report of the bullet being fired and the whap when it hits the target. shooting reloads, 51 grains of IMR 31-30, bullet 405 grains RNFP

I don't spend much time at the rifle range, but my 45-70 is fun to shoot. It is a Model 1885 Winchester Hiwall built by John Oberlies, probably for Robert Smith, both of Dayton, Ohio. It was probably built in the late 30's or early 40's. It is set up as a target-sporting gun with both scope blocks and Winchester Super Grade sling swivels. Right now it is mounted with my Unertl Ultra Varmint 2" scope. I should be able to see 45 caliber bullet holes at 250 yards.

Yea, at about 200 yds or more all you can see without a scope is just the white of the target paper, or at least that's all I can see, Just try for the center of the paper, but with three guys shooting, we have a ball. I guess I am a woosie cause I use a slip on pad on mine, heck after 30-40 rounds the old shoulder starts to get a little sore, gary
