Saw a fox PA sterling worth for sale today in a shop for 699. It had some minor issues with some gouges in stock but other then that looked good. Not sure what these go for. Will post pics when I get back to computer.

Sounds about right for a 28- or 30-inch barrel gun. The 32-inch barrel guns, being everyone's darling now, might drag a bit more.

There are a lot of Sterlingworths out there and many are overpriced for the condition they are in.

If you are paying $700 for one, it better not have too many issues. You should have solid wood, good bored and some original finish at that price.

I won't be buying. I have my eye on a nice G grade at the moment. I was just stunned to see a SxS of that vintage and quality for sale at a local shop.

That gun should not be priced higher than $400 or $500 in my opinion.

There are a lot nicer ones out there for the same money.

I'm 100 % with Brian on this one. 12 Gauge Sterlingworth's aren't hard to come by these days and have little value unless they are in really really nice condition or they have ejectors or they have 32" barrels. IMO that is a $500 gun, but admittingly I don't have the gun actually in hand to look at.

I bought a Philly Sterlingworth last summer at public auction for I think $300 it had 26" IC/M barrels and it was in what appears to be better shape then the gun in question .
