Last week I made a mad dash from Washington to my buddys farm in North Dakota for the final 5 days of pheasant season.
We had great weather the first three days with temps in the 30's (above zero)!!
The last two days were -18 with a wind chill of -45 at times, My new 18 month old wirehair pup Zu-Zu did a great job on pheasants, she is a absolute hunting machine and retrieved about 20 roosters back to us.
I was really hoping to use my 1913 vintage 16 gauge Parker I had recently bought but due to a crack in the wrist I had sent the gun to Kody Kearcher for some of his TLC to the gun, Anyway I did manage to hunt with my Steyer 12 ga. ,my LC Smith 16 and my old reliable browning superposed.

This is my Steyr 12 with double triggers and auto ejectors, I was shooting a 1 oz RST #5 load in the gun for these birds, as best as I can find out this gun was first started in 1924 but not finished until 1931? It has a lever under the forearm that allows you to cut off the ejectors and manually extract the shells.
