This was a long turkey season for me. I finely shot my bird today at 6:15 am. It was a 20 lb bird with 9 3/4 in beard and 1 inch spurs. I shot it with my EH 10 ga at 20 yds with 1 1/2 oz 6's :)

Good bird Scott. Some seasons are just a little longer... others are over in seconds. As for me, I would rather take one on the last day of the season. That way you gain a whole lot more experience from all those days afield and you have a lot more great memories.

Either way, it's all good!

A life size mount in full strut would look nice...oh and put it in a glass case so you won't have to dust it.

I would say given your experience with your grandson your bird was merely icing on a cake that was satisfying and sweet without it, congrats.

nice bird for sure andtakeing it with the short ten is good as it gets...i too think the bird desereves to be in the glass case....charlie
