as far as i can figure out all of the PLAIN STEEL BARRELS were made in 1875..i have a under lifter with PLAIN STEEL BARRELS and it is made in 1875.... you ve go a rare barrel steel...charlie

Decarbonized Steel is usually on the top rib. What is the rib inscription on the subject gun?

Dean, The one I'm looking to buy does say Plain Steel on the rib. Unfortunately it has been cut from 32" to 28", ouch!
