Took the CHE duck hunting yesterday. It was slow day on our marsh yesterday but bagged a Black and hen Pintail. The widgeon and pintail are moving out and the big push of Mallards and Blacks is yet to arrive. Anyhow, the CHE is a 1905 gun. Shooting handloaded #5 bismuth 1 1/8oz.

What a great picture, it would make a great 2014 PGCA calendar.

She's doing what Parker intended, congrats on getting a fine gun in the field which is where they belong.

I second C.O.B.
I admire a man who takes such a fine gun into the duck blind.
Hell they're all field guns aren't they.

It is a fine old gun and it gives me great pleasure to use. It is one of those great old guns that has had an "experienced" life but well taken care of. I love the closet queens as much as any collector but the well used and not abused are fun to collect.

Nice

I haven't been out that much this season, just don't have the burn I used to, but I still enjoy it when I do go.

What is your bismuth load? I am using the 1 1/8 Bism 5 load published in the Precision Bismuth loading booklet for the Win-West AA case. I have cut back to 1 1/16th load (465 grains). I haven't lost a bird yet with it. Seems to work okay.
