As we've discussed before, barrel and gun makers could call their patterns pretty much whatever they wanted, so let's call this "Bachelder"
![]() I've never seen that pattern Brad, but it was obviously somebody's Chain or Chainette. Are there any maker's marks just forward of the flats? Many thanks for posting!

Each tube is stamped ahead of the flats with a "D" and a sideways 4. The flats are stamped with 4 digit serial number followed by P.D.. I have not seen these letters on a Baker before. The gun is a "R' grade with two sets of barrels, same pattern.
I will post some high res. pics shortly, Thanks Brad |

Could it be 'B.D.'? Bauduin Doyen was a Nessonvaux damascus barrel and gun maker. They were part of Syndicat des Fabricants de canons de fusils de la Vesdre in 1907. 'BD' is pretty common on Smith's "Good 2 Rod Damascus"

The stampings are quite sharp with no residual marks present. The forend lug is also stamped D 4. I have noticed that Bakers with English Twist are stamped with an L. Damascus such as found on the Paragons is stamped with a D.
This pattern has a repeat of two wide bands followed by a narrow band. The narrow bands are broken chainette. The wide bands form a flower like pattern, similar to a rose. Perhaps it is Rose and Chain ? The second set of barrels are just as perfect. Brad |

I was able to pull up some marks on the second set of barrels. Three letters possibly A.D.H. . Without full recovery I can't tell for sure. Hopefully these are close to a known makers marks.

Thanks Brad. It's Arthur-Delvaux-Heuse de Fraipont and I found a pic of the same pattern also on a Baker. Is it an A grade or Paragon?
