Is it earlier than my 18719 ? The letter records the barrels are Damascus Steel but they ware actually Parker-made Laminated Steel with a length of 27”

I have my grandfathers 16 vh that he had ordered from parker. Although I grew up shooting this 16 on all manner of upland birds mostly native birds plus flight birds such as woodcock etc. He ordered it with a significant drop to fit him. Although I shot it well I had to significantly adjust to the stock and it was finally just too much for me so about a dz yrs ago or so I had Larry DelGrego restock it to my dimensions. Picked it up a yr later. Fits me like a glove. Brings back many fond family memories shooting it on native birds with my dad. Although I shoot mostly 20 ga Parkers it is a joy to pick this 16 up and bring it to my shoulder. Just got back from bass pro in Foxboro and bought out all their 16 ga field loads. Looking forward to shooting some clays with it tomorrow morning at the club. ( plymouth rod and gun club). 16s still rule in my book. No offense to anyone.

Allen, I sincerely hope you kept the original stock. It belongs with the gun. It has your grandfather’s grimy handprints on it.

I didn't Dean. The old stock was a mess and split with a pin through it. It held no memories sufficient enough for me to have larry DelGrego keep it for me. I shoot it enough to bring back hunting native birds with it in the Neponsett meadows.
