I would like to see the format. I don't need to see old DGJ articles republished in digital format. New material would be most welcome and I would consider writing articles again if there will be compensation for contibutors. Good luck I hope it works.

Craig I think the approach they’re taking is someone will read the old articles. That’s something I can’t do without losing focus but want them to succeed so I’ll end up subscribing. First class video work if not a bit contrived. But what else do we have?

Watched the latest feed from R&S/DGJ this AM. I thought maybe there would be new DGJ content, but it looks like it’s all narrated articles from the DGJ run. The R&S articles so far held little interest for me. My biggest beefs, and I find them both highly annoying, 1) the lispy British accent of the narrator. Same guy does all the articles so far that I’ve seen. No need for the accent. 2) You have to set up a Substack account to receive the feed. You not only have to scroll through the posts to see R&S/DGJ, but then you see all the leftist BS that is posted there. Call it leftist, liberal, communist, socialist, Marxist, democrat, etc, it’s the same evil ideas. I will not be renewing my subscription. Daniel and Joanna had a great thing going in the DGJ, but this didn’t add to it. Just my opinion.

I wonder about copyright permissions for republication of articles, beyond the authors' submittal for one-time insertion in the original DGJ?

What the Mountain Man said - I used to bend the knee for Garden & Gun magazine until they went so far left with PETA, DEI and other nonsense they could qualify for hiking board handlers in a log canoe race. Called up to vent and the first thing the chirpy receptionist asked me after initial pleasantries was where I lived and how old I was. And that was the end of that!

Garden and Gun piled up in my library so fast that I cancelled just to get room to work. When Dan Cote asked for material for his proposed Volume 3 of The Parker Story, I immediately emailed him (as he had asked) and offered my research material to him (again, exactly what he asked for). Weeks have gone by and he has not replied. After asking for gun and research information for a proposed new Parker Story reissue, only a few hours went by before his interest passed to his Rose and Scroll project. No thanks.

So what’s the latest on the DGJ/Rose & Scroll Mag venture? Nothing posted since early February.

Interesting use of AI to reconstitute previously published articles. Good to see a Gordon setter as the “poster dog.”

Another three months have passed since my last post and still no reply from Dan Cote concerning my offer to contribute my research material for the Volume 3 The Parker Story. Apparently, the Rose and Scroll project took more importance than the Parker Story project and it seems like the Rose and Scroll project is losing momentum also. I wonder if there could possibly be a comment from Dan on this forum?
