Default First Iteration SBT

We have identified the earliest known SBT, but I’m not sure if we know the last survivor of the first edition which has the scroll engraving without the pigeon. They were only made this way for the first year. I have serial number 178956 which is probably middle of the pack. Let’s see if we can identify the highest number with this style of engraving. Below is a sample.

176128 is written about in the post I’m including a link to. According to the records it was the second one made.

Apparently that link doesn’t work. It’s 3 pages back in this forum.

I had a scroll bottom SC in my hands six or seven years ago that sold at a local auction . Think I bid it up to $2700 then bowed out , I shoulda gone higher . Wish I remembered the number .

Ser. #181261 with no dove reclines in my gun cabinet. Where does it fit in the lineage?

I would say that’s close to the upper end Gary. Do you have any pictures you could share?

This is a cool thread. I was not aware of the early design. Every serious Parker collector should have at least one SBT
