I think that Spark was the old University Inn, just a stones throw from the Tru, which got shuttered by the health department. But they were still taking bookings through 3rd party sites for months after closure. People would show up to a padlocked door.

I was really surprised at the rates of rooms in vestal at the hotels. It is hars to find anything under $200. Last year and this year I did the airbnb route, which is slim pickings in that area. This year I was able to find a nice looking place only 15 mins from the shoot.

The prices have been getting stupid expensive. I managed to get $130/night at Spark for this year, but that was a couple months back.

Spark was not leveled, I watched it get renovated. Prices are stupid because of all the NYC students at Binghamton U. (23,000 of them) and their visiting families.
