Default Backwoods Quail Club

I spent three days at the Backwoods Quail Club in Georgetown SC, home of the Fall Southern. Unfortunately, it rained for all three days so our quail hunting was a no go. We did shoot a bunch of clays with our bird guns. The station with the firetruck is the most difficult target presentation I have ever seen. The clays look like specks of orange.

It seems as though you have angered the quail gods. First GA and now SC. That fire truck set up looks awesome. Bring the 8ga next time.

That's a shame. Great hunting at BWQC. We hit it right in January as the weather was sunny and 55 to 70 all three days.

The fire truck tower looks like a good idea. Make a generous donation to your local fire company in exchange for the use of their tower truck for sporting clays.

Daryl I agree the firetruck station would be great test of the 8ga. My guess it's a 70 to 80 yard target maybe more.

Backwoods is a great sporting venue, and its owner is one of the most knowledgeable range managers i've ever known personally. You don't host a very successful U.S. Open with as few glitches as Rick has done without being so.

I would hate to see what happened if someone dropped a gun from that high.
