Look for Remington codes on the barrel flats.
The forend width, being the same width along its entire length suggests a Remington replacement or possibly replaced by someone who didn't know the difference.
The grip checkering is not of the grade 6 pattern we would expect to see. It is more like that of a grade 3 checkering. And on the toe line where the checkering continues beyond the point of the trigger guard strap, the checkering pattern, quality and finish is not in keeping with that of Parker Bros. artisans.
The forend checkering pattern and extra flourishes are more like what we might expect to see on a grade 4 with a fully checkered forend.
A very interesting gun that, at first glance, appears as it is shown in the Serialization Book.
