Charlie I am starting to experiment with Tungsten Super Shot. I will be using number 9s in a 2 3/4" 1.25 ounce 12 gauge load. This is supposed to kill turkeys 50 yards or more due to the tungsten shot which is so hard and heavy compared to lead and much more than Hevi-shot. I have loaded these up and the tungsten is in a wad with shot protector wraps inside the wad.

At $47 for a pound I've got to make a shot trap to save the shot on the targets I try. So one ounce is $3. I'm trying to turn these old 2 3/4" guns into the equal of modern 3.5" magnums. They are killing turkeys at 40+ yards with .410 guns. If it works well in 12 I'll be going next to one ounce in 20 to turn them into the same. I'll let you know if it is a success or a failure.
