The most recent addition to my wooden counterfeit collection is this flying Ruffed Grouse, carved by Casey Edwards of Mason, WI. This bird is a potential mate to the drummer shown previously above. Shown here singularly and as this young-of-the-year hen performing a fly-by thru our den, head slightly turned, eyes gazing upon the drummer boy across the room, her rump feathers proudly displayed, not unlike a Las Vegas Showgirl’s — you have to believe this “Hot Chick” might be looking for some action!
