Dean and John, you are correct. Purdey made about 2-3 yrs ago. According to the gentleman at Purdeys when I was last there, this is their most recent attempt at producing a Damascus double. I believe it's a one of a kind. Was sold but on display at Purdeys when I was there. Just look but don't touch as it was not technically theirs.
Dean, the workmanship on this sxs was incredible but as you said, it was quite "over the top". John, the steel may very well have been Swedish.
I've included a few more pics of the Purdey shop in London. A shop to visit if ever in London for sure. Yanks are most welcome there!
