I hunted with some friends Saturday our last day of deer season .
Anyway I didn't know until I got there another fellow was going to join us . This new guy has an Irish Setter he had trained to use on deer .
Strangely I had been thinking about getting a couple beagles for use on deer next year . And I had also talked with a couple guys in North Carolina about using pointers setters or droppers for deer .
Anyway this mans setter would get twitchy when it scented a deer , and the guy would turn the dog loose . The dog would trail the deer then when he saw or flushed the deer he would bark and follow maybe 50-150 yards then break off and come back .
Actually worked pretty well on our end of the year man drives . I wish I'd taken a couple pics of the dog and owner .
