6 months ago after a terrible round of Sporting, I grounded my DT10. I have not shot it since. However, I did pick up my Parker VHE 32", 1 1/2 frame and have really enjoyed shooting it. I have had an incredible time shooting this vintage SXS.
Today I ran our local 5-Stand course with the Parker. This was not a soft course. The 32" Full / Full chokes worked great! What a hoot to run a testy 5-Stand with a 100 year old gun!
I cannot wait to shoot it again! This weekend is Tulsa, so I will have to wait until next Thursday.

I used to shoot clay targets exclusively with a Krieghoff K-32 that was set up to shoot all gauges of skeet , all three trap games and sporting clays . And I did very well at all three while using that gun I just had to change barrels and our insert tubes depending on the game . But for the last ten years or so I’ve pretty much used SxS guns only again in everything skeet trap , sporting , helice or pigeons . Now it helps that I’ve shot SxS’s for over 50 of my almost 65 years . Over the years depending on how you look at it I do equally well or equally bad with SxS or O/U . The same can be said for straight grip vs pistol grip as well as single trigger vs double trigger .

Everyone knows you can’t be a serious competitor shooting these “antique” guns, much less a side x side. Throw in double triggers and you’re just wasting time and money.

A fella came up to me at Ben Avery recently, looked at my 120 y/o L.C. Smith and said "Wow. I've only seen one of those in the movies!"
