Hi Unregistered,
On July 29th, this site will be moving..! No, really - it's "moving" to another physical location - including servers, gateways, routers - everything - including my coffee cup...
So, from the date of July 29th through July 30 or 31 (shooting for these dates, but - as always, I'm at the mercy of my ISP who has to install the lines to the new location - and we actually get them running ;) ). But - this site, cloud servers and main web will be OFF LINE.
Now, please save these dates!! Please - don't be "that guy" who emails me on the 30th to tell me you "can't open the Parker Website". I'll already know it is offline - and also know that you are "that guy"...
I'll take this notice up and down over the next week or so - and leave it up during the final few days before shutting it off on the 29th..
John D.

Just looking for some input if anyone has used CSMs Parker Brothers Stock finish ? I am working on a Hammer 0 grade top lever and wondered if was close or the French Polish they have was better. Thanks Steve.

I have never used CSM's stuff, but making your own french polish with orange shellac, boiled linseed oil and a few drops of japan drier is so easy and relatively cheap that I havent looked any further. Just mix it up in small batches (2 oz or so) and vary the percentage of oil to suit your polishing stroke and your finish will come out as nice as any. I use about a 10% to 15% proportion of oil, and be sure to cut the shellac from the standard 3lb mix to 1 1/2 lb with high quality alcohol. There was a long thread on this subject several years ago, you can probably find it in the archives. Best.
