My recommendation is exactly like Matt’s except don’t use a solvent. You don’t want to lubricate or protect the lead. The Frontier pad will not damage the bore at all but used dry it will make short work of the lead. Do it muzzle down over a sheet of white paper and watch the little pile of lead particles build up. I’ve done this very successfully.

EDIT: I was curious if any steel was being removed so I held a little pen magnet to the particles and absolutely nothing was attracted to the magnet.

Lead-fouled bores and chokes can destroy patterns.
