The V in the circle is the barrel material marking -- Vulcan Steel. The choke markings are generally only on late Ilion Parkers. From my observation they begin appearing in the mid 240xxx range and are pretty consistent in the 241xxx and 242xxx range. The late guns with the serial number on the left barrel flat, and no barrel material marking on the right. Guns with the grade, gauge and chamber length on the left side of the barrel lug.
