On July 29th, this site will be moving..! No, really - it's "moving" to another physical location - including servers, gateways, routers - everything - including my coffee cup...
So, from the date of July 29th through July 30 or 31 (shooting for these dates, but - as always, I'm at the mercy of my ISP who has to install the lines to the new location - and we actually get them running ;) ). But - this site, cloud servers and main web will be OFF LINE.
Now, please save these dates!! Please - don't be "that guy" who emails me on the 30th to tell me you "can't open the Parker Website". I'll already know it is offline - and also know that you are "that guy"...
I'll take this notice up and down over the next week or so - and leave it up during the final few days before shutting it off on the 29th..
Saw four Parker’s at a gun show. Thought hard about them all but settled on a decent VH. 32” F/F barrels. All four had replacement butt pads and two had cut stocks and one had added length to the stock. The VH has a Pachmyer white line pad but the rest is very original. Most original case colours in my modest collection. Pics don’t quite capture them. When I disassembled the internals were close to pristine. Never opened up another that looked like this one. It has seen some shooting for sure but not a lot. There was even some hardened factory grease under the cocking slide. A few pics. Cheers Jack

Jack is quite adept at Parker shotgun disassembly and reassembly.

Rick - It is indeed a 2 frame. It also sports a single ivory bead. It is not in the book. I have disassembled a few Parker’s and from what I find each time I wouldn’t shoot one without going through the disassemble/clean/lube/reassemble process. Not that they wouldn’t function just that they deserve a once in a century spa day and I find it therapeutic to fiddle with a 100 or so parts.
Rich - We do grow some big grouse up here. A small cannon can be useful. Cheers Jack

Hard to find that grade and configuration that has not been subjected to a lot
of abuse/use. That one looks solid to my eye. Screws look pretty good and they are even timed. Engraving is still solid as well. I would say you got a good one there. How about the wood, does it's wear match the metal ? Good find !!
The wood has its share of clues it saw a few hunting trips. Each trip I’m guessing saw it get over-oiled. It likely stood on its butt for many years and oil did darken the stock head. That said, the checkering is still in very good condition - even the forearm. I do plan to try some long shot roosters with this gun come October. Cheers Jack
