Perhaps I did not phrase my question well. I am comfortable with the care and maintenance of firearms.

Having read that Parker ejectors are complex, somewhat fragile, and difficult to repair, is it best to store one's ejector gun closed- 1. action closed hammers cocked, 2. action closed, dry fired (thus the ejectors would be under tension) or 3. some other way ie. barrels separated from frame?

I plan to use and hunt with this gun regularly and want to ensure that longevity of its parts and function are not compromised by inadequate knowledge on my part.
