Definitely a Grade 1 engraving job - the equivalent of the later "P" Grade.

I believe both Murphy and Mark Conrad have said that the grade on earlier guns (maybe all guns) was determined by the price assigned to the gun. If, for instance, a discount were given or a pricing error was made (or even human error on the part of Parker Bros. employees) it is easily understandable how the grade of a gun could have been misconstrued, hence Dave's Grade 1 being listed as a Grade 0.

Ditto the #1 frame 32" 16g shown above (previously owned by Brother Miles). It is listed as a T0 but the watertable is marked "P" so Parker must have thought it was a Grade 1 gun.

Of my three nearly identical 16 ga., 0-frame, t/a,  Laminated Steel barreled hammer guns with simple single-line engraving and the vvvvvvvvvv style of border engraving we are used to seeing on VH guns, 74443 and 74625 are listed as Grade 0 while 74446 is listed as a Grade 1 . . . go figure

Dean,

Your so nice with your kind words, If us Parker people can't help and trust one another out on a simple issue then the World is a sad place.  Enjoy the gun as it a sweet little lady.  Show some off all of the sweet case color on the sides and bottom of the gun.
