My father has a Parker Hammer 12 ga shotgun, double barrel, 28" barrel, serial #47384 that he is wanting to sell. We live in Wisconsin. To whom would we take the shotgun for an appraisal? Where could we take the shotgun to sell it?

Wayne,

Where in WI do you live? There many on this forum that live there and would be happy to point you in the right direction. As Steve pointed out, we are not allowed to offer guns for sale on this forum, however we often discuss where someone such as yourself may seek help in valuation, etc.

However, if we'd close this site down. And get on with the new site, we could offer guns for sale. ;)

Camp Douglas, WI.  I just used the Parker Identification to determine that it's not a 12 ga.  Frame size 0 which is either a 16 ga or 20 ga.  I was not looking to sell on this site but looking for info on who to talk to.

Wayne,

You have an 1886 toplever 16 gauge with 28" TWIST barrels and straight stock. I see you are just north of Madison. I hope someone in that area will respond. You could post some pictures. Close up of frame, barrels and checkering. From pictures we could give you a good guess of what we think its value might be.

Hot gun, worth a lot of money, everyone wants one.  Put it on the guns for sale section of doublegunshop.com.  Pay the webmaster ten bucks after you sell it.  You will get private messages from this site, but it would be better for you to sell it where all can see it.  Put pictures with your ad.

Wayne,

Good looking gun, some chips on the butt stock and so on but over all a nice Parker.  If you have time take the gun barrels off and shoot a picture of the reciever where the barrels would sit, there are some numbers there that will give you more information about your gun.  Also close up (stand back and use the zoom) of any engravings and so on would be great.

Brian
