That gun just sold for $2750.00 about 3 weeks ago. Must be the buyer returned it.

Bill,
I have a GH of about the same vintage as this one, and the letter claims it shipped with 26 1/2" barrels.. Hovever I spoke to Larry DelGrego Jr. about it in passing and he didn't seem to think that they would/could have produced such a beast.

Well it's the same old pitted and sanded GH that "sold" for $2750. I wonder whether the other two guys who bid it up last time will bid it up this time? I notice "Rainking" did not leave feedback, good or bad, for the buyer.

Chris,
I think they could have very easily produced such a beast, and wouldn't be a bit surprised if they did. You believe Delgrego over the letter?

I have an order for a 26 1/2" Parker in my files. I wonder if it is the same gun. Certainly they made 1/2" guns, but the letter is about the only way to document them. Physical examination can only disprove originality of a real odd gun, not prove it. I have wonderful original Parkers of 27", 29", and 33". Without letters, they would be very hard to market at their real value as original guns. Last edited on Wed Apr 1st, 2009 07:23 pm by Bill Murphy

I believe the letter, I don't see why Parker would have written 26 1/2" in the book if that wasn't the intended outcome. Not knowing much about the barrel making process I can't speculate why it couldn't be done, only what I was told. Seems sort of a random length, but we'll never know the truth because they have been trimmed down to 25".

Please note the barrel weight mark of 4 pounds 6 ounces on the flats of this set of damascus barrels that is suppose to be original 28 and 1/2 inches. 4 pounds and 6 ounces points to 30 inch or 32 inch barrels on a number 1 frame Parker gun. The seller says the gun is built on a number one frame. I cannot tell what the frame size is by the pictures that are posted.
If the 4 pounds and 6 ounces is correct and the number one frame is true and 12 gauge is accurate THEN THESE BARRELS HAVE BEEN CUT OFF FOR SURE !!!
First we need to see the frame size mark on the lug of these barrels. Then we need to see a tape measure up against these barrels. Next we need to know what gauge this gun is for sure, show us a shell in the chamber, 10 ga, 12 ga, or 16 ga.
Be careful out there. Many many sellers do not know the difference between a 10 ga Parker and a 12 ga Parker.
Good Shooting To You, Jent
