If you can shoot in the 20's at trap my hats off to you because I can't. Maybe that 28GA really isn't a trap gun afterall;)

We do have wobble trap that will throw a bird hard angle low to straight rising puddle duck and a doubles field. We are holding this Sat. which is a normal trap only day because there is usually only a hand full of people that are regulars and they us one field and we are required to stop shooting on Sun. at 1:00 PM. My guess is every one will be able to shoot as much Modern skeet and Standard Skeet as they would like. Should be fun.

Whew!. . . decisions, decisions. Poor Dave - how will he ever be able to decide?

Look on the bright side, maybe the weather forecast for southern CT will call for severe T-storms with gale-force winds on the 19th while southern NH will experience a bluebird day with temps in the 70's and no wind. I'll bet the game would be rescheduled

What chokes are best for trap and skeet and which ga is best for both?? I see that most Parker trap guns are 12 ga. Too much for me for an all day shoot..

Angel, everyone has their "pet" gauge for each type of shooting but a 12 gauge is generally preferred for trap. Personally I prefer a 28 gauge for skeet and clays courses designed for small bore guns. You can buy or load light loads that you could comfortably shoot all day if you prefer a twelve.

Angel,I prefer a 12 ga. for trap and a any gauge for skeet!;) But my hot rod 16 does just fine.

As for trap I have been fooling around with chokes just to see how open I could get and still break targets at 16yds.rise and believe it or not ya can still breakem pretty good with a IC choke!

Angel I only shoot 7/8 oz loads in my 12 gage guns. I have very little felt recoil and can break clays easily out to 60 yards. I see no reason to beat yourself up just to break a clay bird and I believe these loads pattern better in tightly choked guns.

Thanks for all the info. guys. I have a nice 20 ga for skeet, but my 16 ga that I would have used for trap, I sent the bbls to Dale. I guess I`ll have to go with the 12 ga...

Hang on there Dave..... ;)

Your first paragraph is as to why you can't be there..???

And then post in the second you are not scared- if you were there, which you can't be, but you would like to be, but already made excuses for as to why not, in case you don't show up, which you won't, as you can't due to the "baseball factor", or any factor, except for your son, who would probably outshoot both you and me - in which case - he would be dis-invited, as he's a ringer and can not shoot in your stead...

In which case and in summation...

I'm guessing you are VERYYY SCARED!!!..  ;)

:)

It is a challenge - and now let me explain about the prize if you beat me...  As I said - I'll pay for your ticket to Cayes Haiti (seriously - a lot of folks have asked me what Jen & I are doing in Haiti, why, with whom and...  One even asked if there are any golf courses ;) Anyway - since it's "Foto Friday" - I'll try to explain in that thread and show some pics when I get home later - but not in this thread...)...

But Dave - you'll beat me - everybody does.. :(  For that - here is what downtown Les Cayes looks like.  And you can bet your boots - I'd be honored to have you come with me - and you can see first hand what we are doing and why  :)

One of the main streets in Les Cayes, Haiti:

John's been awfull quiet lately and may not be back yet so could Bob or someone else chime in and let us flatlanders (local term for anyone not from New Hampshire) know if we should make the trip. Thanks, Larry
