Ah Destry, its fun to argue a little bit. Besides, when Mr. Morin says he "field strips oreos" he has got to be fair game. perhaps he even has a cookie inspection to determine if all the white creamy icing has been removed. Last edited on Wed May 21st, 2008 04:20 am by Brad Hunt

OK, we're back on subject. Don, how do we know that the old TNB 34" gun was gone from the radar screen after the construction of Bo Whoop? What is the date of the picture we are all familiar with that apparently pictures a 34" Parker? If I had a few extra bucks, (I don't), I would request letters on the two serial numbers to see if they were originally sold down south. If someone will send me a check for $80.00, I will send for those two letters and forward them to the interested party with the serial numbers unmolested.

I would guess the photo in GBE's book is mid 1920's-pre-BWI but after NB got his first standard HE. He is shooting the Parker in the F&S film in 1921 at Wampanoca. I do not recall any further references to it after the Foxes take over. By 1928 he is shooting BWI extensively (skeet at Campfire, pigeons at the PGC, and one would presume at Oxen Hill, etc.) Did he sell the Parker around that time? My guess is yes.

When did TNB meet Henry Bartholomew? Did you once mention that Henry's AAH Grade 34" gun ended up with someone of your acquaintance? It would be a bit unusual for two of these guns to pass through the same two friends unless it could possibly be the same gun. Does anyone want to send me that $80?

I suspect TNB met HB went he went to work in Washington, D.C. The 34" AAHE was on long term loan to Mr. Bickel 20 years ago. I am not aware it was one of HB's guns but perhaps it was. If I recall the story correctly it had been re-barrelled to 34". It was re-stocked by Burt Becker, however. Perhasp you can ask Russ next time you see him. While the photos are not very clear, the 34" Parker does not look like a AAHE to me.

I will see if Russ has any information on the serial numbers (2) of what I suspect is the Buckingham Parker. In the meantime, for $80, from any source, I will request letters on the two numbers in question.
