The gun has an interesting history, came from Portsmouth NH and was used and , abused on the bay there, Barnegat? It hadn't been out of New Hampshire until I brought it back here. The Bernards are a bit loose because of wear but the Damascus barrels have little or no lug or bite wear.

Bruce, for interesting histories on CH Bernard two-barrel sets in the Great Bay and Portsmouth area you should talk to Bob Valentine about his. Quite a story there.

Richard, what kind of duck is that in the lower right foreground?

Tom, would be good to get together with Jeff. Great prairie pheasant and pothole duck country. Maybe I could run up to Iowa and join you.

Don't think I'll get the heavy 12/10ga C back to Sanford. I fly of course so I will likely bring only that 20ga dam. CHE that you've seen and my best clays shooter, a C Bernard F & F pigeon gun.     At the price of 10 ga shells I'm not going to be shooting very many clay pigeons. I can still buy a case of Estates 12 or 20 for under $55.

Dean: I've talked with Bob before and enjoy his insights. Look forward to conversing again.

I think that's what you call a barn pigeon Dean.

Destry is correct. That is one of the Fairbanks pigeons that end up getting trapped by my neighbor and hunting partner under permit from the city and used in local live bird shoots for field trials. We'll see how those mallards weather the -40 we'll have over the next few days.
