Default Barrel question

Hi
I have a Remington Era 16 gauge number 1 reciever that's looking for a set of barrels.
My question is would a set of 20 gauge barrels fit this ? I realise that they would need to be fitted just wondering if it is possible.
I don't have either size , but I would prefer to put together a 20 gauge than a 16.
Just some thoughts,. Thanks for any advice, Tom

Yes. Different gauge barrels within the same frame size are compatable.

I just recenly finished fitting up a set of 32" 16g 1 frame barrels to a PH that was a 20g 1 frame to make a 2 barrel set.

Ejectors or extractors? What parts do you actually have, just the receiver?

I have an ejector reciever with a stock .
I was figuring any barrel set will do, I can always turn them into ejectors.
