Is it safe to shoot, this can only be determined by a competent gunsmith who is familiar with old side-by-side shotguns. Chamber length and barrel wall thickness are the prime considerations. 

If you have concerns about the safety of your Parker, by all means get it to a qualified gunsmith before attempting to fire it.
