Leather products such as Leg-O-mutton, Gun Slips and Oak &
Leather gun cases, can last many years if properly cared for.
Use a good-quality leather oil. Allow it to penetrate, but don't
leave it so long it dries and becomes sticky.
Some collectors use Vaseline to soften dry leather, but this
is not recommended, as it can cause the leather to deteriorate.
Finished leather surfaces can be protected and enhanced in
appearance with a thin, well-buffed coat of neutral shoe polish
or a good-quality paste wax.
