Getting the forend iron out is not too much of an issue. Sometimes it can be sort of fused I to the wood and takes some patience and gentil persuasion to get it out. You should be able to tell at that point if it is dirty or if something looks worn or broken. It could be either.
Taking apart the Parker ejector mechanism is actually not as difficult as others. That may be a good idea for my next photo tutorial. If I ever get another ejector gun in the shop again.
