The New Posts button prioritizes threads according to you. You can easily see only what's new separated from those threads you've visited before. You can easily just glance at them and visit only those of interest to you.

I'm not a knowledgeable Parker guy, but frequently find informative and occasionally important
 tidbits in threads which, by the title alone, seem uninteresting. Certainly some posters are worth quickly checking, like Brian or Dave Noreen.
