I would love to find some data for 2 1/2" as well. Ideally I would like to find something in the 5000-6500 psi range. Does anyone know if Sherman Bell did an article on low pressure 2 1/2" loads?

I have a couple loads, that I had tested by Tom Armbrust.
New 2-1/2" Cheddite hull. Can be purchased from Graff's and sons. It comes primed with Cheddite primer, but you can use Win. 209 after. 20 grains International Clays GU-1222 wad. can also get from Graff's. 1 oz. lead shot 1200 FPS @ 6800 PSI If you adjust your reloader correctly, you'll get perfect crimps, with either 6 or 8 point crimp. You can also use: 21 grains of IMR-PB for 1125 FPS @ 6000 PSI 22 grains of IMR-PB for 1225 FPS @ 7200 PSI These loads were also tested. Regards, Dave Opps, I guess they're out of stock right now. http://www.grafs.com/product/256611 But, you can cut down the 2-3/4" Cheddite hulls. Last edited by Dave Miles; 03-25-2010 at 01:21 PM.. |

Any reason to think these numbers would be radically different substituting bismuth for the lead?? BP |
