Default Jaquas Road Trip

Since I couldn’t make the trip to Mike’s I’m headed to Jaquas today to check out the gorgeous selection of guns. It’s going to be another wonderful day.

We expect a report (please!).

Lots of beautiful Parkers all from the same collection. Fellow passed away never having seen some of the guns he had bought, including the incredible A-1 Special 16. My interest was was in a couple of BHE 20’s that are both beautiful. A 30” gun is priced beyond my reach and a 26” gun is a lovely Bachelder refinish. I prefer 30 inch barrels on my small bores, especially the 20’s as I love to shoot sporting clays with them. There Is an interesting 28 gauge PH upgraded from VH. I was disappointed to see it wasn’t a factor PH as I had planned to take a run at it. There was also a pretty little 410 with a beaver tail that just hit the floor and seemed reasonably priced. All in all a wonderful way to spend a couple hours with a dear Parker friend. BTW. They gratuitously allowed us to handle the A1 Special.

Here are photos from Dan’s trip. This A1 Special 16 gauge was described by a friend as “[t]he most beautiful Parker shotgun I have ever seen.”

Looking at the pics on their website, both BHE 20s appear to have had restoration work? There are a handful of the collection that appear original? Hard to tell looking at pics sometimes. Some are obviously restored, some not so.

That's an accurate observation. There are a signicant amount of guns I looked at while they were still organizing them that have sold. They mentioned that for a while people were calling about specific guns in the collection and buying them in groups.

It is my understanding that the proceeds from the sale of these guns is directed to go to children's hospitals.

They indicated that the proceeds were going entirely to charity as the collection owner had no heirs. They mentioned 2 different charities.
