Default Slow but sure

Project been ongoing for 7 years. Just because I only get to the farm for a few days two or three times per year. Kid learned a little bit about mechanics when time could be spared from the digital world. The handshake pic was the day the old beast (1945 Farmall H ) actually got fired up. Going up in August and hope to get very close to completion. Won’t see much real tractor work with this. Maybe a parade or car show. Too small for what happens on farms these days. But in its day it was the go to tractor. Cheers Jack

That is a beauty...in many ways.

The kid wanted to “take it for a spin” when he showed it to me 8 years ago. It was a very dead tractor going nowhere. I said we might be able to take it for a spin but that it might take some time. And that’s all it took to get into a multi year project. The things we do for a kid. 😊

Jack, here is a picture of our Farmall from my childhood. Check out the homemade sprayer they used with pesticidesike DDT. My father, on the tractor, developed cancer in his 30s and died in his early 40s. They always postulated that his heavy exposure to pesticides was the cause.

Nice picture. Sad that your Dad passed away too soon. DDT is toxic for sure and very likely carcinogenic.

Another couple days at the farm. All new wiring. Can’t quite get the big sheet metal mated nicely. Next time. If they had a good 6v battery we could have fired it up. Next time. And that’s how it has progressed. Many many next times. 😊
Can’t win with orientation of third pic ☹️
