Default SBT grade 4

Question; Would an Old English pad be period correct on a 1919 SBT? It is brown and looks good with wear consistent with the rest of the gun. Thanks.

No, a Silver pad is the only pad correct for a 1919 SC. To be honest, there are other pads "of the day", but the Silver is the most common. An Old English is about 70 or 80 years too late.

I do not have a correct period catalog with me but I believe an SC could be had with any available pad of the customers choice except a Silvers pad which if I recall was a $1 extra. an old English pad is not correct for your SC.
