The only Magnum frame NID I have saved pictures of that has cocking indicators is the Chas. Askins/Elmer Keith serial number 500000 --

500000 05.jpg

The pictures I've saved of 31, 32 and 38 don't appear to have indicators.

Serial number 500155 doesn't have indicators and by 500167 that I use to own was a post-1935 Field Grade.

I was told just about all the stuff at the Mount Crawford auction was stuff he’d bought from Julia’s or RIA or whatever that were never unboxed . I didn’t know the guy either but 35 years ago for lack of a better term “we ran in the same circles”.

Do you really believe that Charlie Hunter or his successors opened the boxes and found screw in chokes in guns he bought from RIA or Julia's? I mean "all of them"? What circles were they that you two guys ran in and never met?

He supposedly was a wheel so to speak at Shenandale and in that time period I was there quite a bit . Who’s to say he didn’t know they had screw ins when he bought them . All I can say is what I was told be it fact or fiction .

Serial # 500,060 does have cocking indicators, a Grade 2E, 10, 32”, single non selective rear position trigger

PS. I noticed when using my search function today on SXS Ithaca Magnums, it was stated that 34” barrels were offered, if this correct, I have yet to see one
Does anyone else have record of a 34” Ithaca Magnum, or any 34” Ithaca SXS?

Stan

A relative of mine in Minnesota had a 34-inch Magnum-10. I was an Ensign last time I saw it and Bob is long dead. Some years ago Barnett had a 34-inch, No. 1E, Magnum-12, serial number 500155 for sale.

Craig, I don't think you will find the the auction houses you mention have sold anywhere near the number of screw choked Model 21s and Mag Ten Ithacas that were sold in this auction in the entire history of James Julia auctions. Get serious. Mr. Hunter destroyed these guns himself, after unpacking great guns he purchased from Jim Julia and sending them to Briley for destruction. He is making millions on his decoys while his guns are being trashed by collectors.

Default Ithaca Mag 10

Just for the record, my Ithaca Mag 10, grade #1, has cocking indicators. It is #223 with 32" barrels.
