Default Current state of the Remington Museum

I stopped in Ilion today, to see what was going on at Remington. This is the current state of the museum and country store. Not very promising.

The company was so divided up in the bankruptcy sale that whoever ended up with ownership of this part probably doesn't think it worth opening or just doesn't care.
Sad, sad, sad.

Thanks for posting, Sara. Is that April 1st notice for this year or next year? If next year, that would be quite something. I wish the anti-gun folks really understood the history of sporting arms that they are crushing with their actions...but then, they may not care.

I was thinking the same thing. I’d almost say 2020… maybe 2021? Either way, no update in a long time, and it is all locked down.

The main sign out front said “now hiring” and had a staffing website listed. But that also begs the question, when is that even from??

Very sad, but no surprise given Remington’s problems

There was steam coming from the factory that was visible from the Thruway. When we were standing in front of what was the museum entrance there was the hum of some kind of machinery running from the large building to the left.

If you are ever passing through the area around lunch time there is surprisingly good place up the road in the village of Mohawk called Mrs. Shake. I had an excellent burger and some very fresh french fries along with vanilla milk shake at bygone era prices.

Au contraire, they know and they are happy about those kind of results.
