MEC has videos that troubleshoot many issues, worth a look, on their WS. Also, give their CS a call. They can walk you thru rectifying all sorts of problems. Good luck.

You should be able to lower the resize/decap and priming dies.

Most 10 ga shells have a high brass on them. If the used press was convered from 12ga, or just a little out of adjustment you'll have to look at a couple of things. I'm assuming the shell doesn't come back out of the resizing ring in the deprime station. The adjustable ring will have to be adjusted up so when you're at full up stroke the center punch will push the shell down far enough. Either that, or take the chrome tube off and disassemble the center punch. Get a longer 1/4-20 so the center punch will push the shell off the resizing ring. On my old Jr a washer or two and maybe a longer 1/4-20 screw will give you the added length to prime a shell.

The short kit as you found out has no bearing on some of the stations. You could have the same problems no matter what the shell length.

I run seven MEC 600 Jrs and none of them lower the sizing ring all the way down to the rim. Run a few through and see if they chambers in your gun.

I do not get this at all . The only thing the short kit does is bring the crimp end of the shell up higher obviously. But as to the deprime prime stations there’s no need to move anything , the base of the hull is the base of the hull regardless of its 2 7/8” or 3 1/2” . I load both lengths and have a 600 as well as a Sizemaster for the 10 gauge and both do fine on both lengths .
