Gary;
With a good surgeon she should do fine as she has her young age going for her. Follow the Doctors instruction to the tee, give her a scratch on the head for me and keep her weight down. Good luck.

Just a follow up, Jolie went back to Carolina today for her last X-ray and thank goodness after 3 months she can resume normal activities, Vet says everything looks good, " she still limps after laying around for a while, but not in the woods" Left early this morning to get to Greensboro on time saw 2 hens with 14 chicks crossing the drive, should be a good season next year, Gary

Best of luck with your dog. I had an English Setter that had a cruciate ligament tear. My vet told me that he would tear one in the other leg within a year. He advised given the age of the dog (9years old) that I just retire him to the kennel. The vet is regarded as the best in my area for this surgery and does many of them. He advised each surgery would cost $2,500, so $5,000 to do both legs in one year on a dog that would be 10 years old.
