Default 1881 Parker Double Hammer Pull

New to the site and thanks all!
A few years before my Dad passed, he gave me a 1881 Parker Double. I want to know if anyone here knows a "Parker Guy" in Maine who could look at it for me, and tell me some things about it and if it's safe to shoot. I believe I can get black powder shot shells. I would love for my Son & I to be able to shoot a grouse with it at least once!
I live in Western Maine near Fryeburg.
Thanks for any help!

If you post some photos here you will get an abundance of information about your gun.
The watertable (top of the frame under the barrels).
The underside of the barrels at the frame.
Some closeups of the sideplates, top and bottom tangs.
The Serial Number could reveal additional information.
Congratulations on your inheritance!

Is it a Parker Bros. or is it a T Parker or some such other than Parker Bros.??

Do you know what gauge it is?

I can look it over for you sometime in the next few weeks.
My cell number is 978-621-9338 so call me sometime Tuesday.

Chris, You would be well served with contacting Mr. Romig. If your double is indeed a Parker Brothers, He can surely lend expertise and knowledge to no end. Good luck.

Be well, Dean
