Default Finally!

After weeks of hurricane winds and major rain, yesterday was perfect. A sweet-casting little glass 4wt, lots of fat 'gills and a crappie or two...

I’d kinda like a good mess of crappie fillets . Dredge them in flour , pan fry them and some taters with a little coleslaw and perhaps a couple corn muffins

I have progressed ( some might say regressed), from bass boat/tournament fishing to simple farm pond /stream fishing with ultralights and occassional fly rod. Pure relaxation and enjoyment and yeah, some great eating. The boat hasnt been in the water for years, I need to get rid of it.

Very mild and tasty. I live a few hundred yards from the southern shore of Lake Erie's Western Basin where perch and wallyeye are currently incredibly abundent and my favorites but crapie are not far off.

Crappies are excellent - a lot like flounder for those near the coast. Bluegills are excellent to but not as good as crappie.

Deep fried in beer batter, hard to tell the difference. Both are excellent. Got 10+ packages in the freezer already. I carry a filled knife and cutting board in the truck.
